James e. Woody is one of the world's first proclaimed and
recognized African-American Transpersonal Artists.
- Who will open themselves to such depths

Some academics have defined Woody's paintings as a derivative of the Action Art Movement. "Action Art"
is a term first coined by Harold Rosenberg, it refers to
unconventional techniques of applying paint to a canvas and connected to
the Abstract Expressionist movement. More precise in its meaning, Action
Painters believe in the expressive power held in the actual act of
painting as much as in the finished product. Rosenberg defined the
notion of the canvas as seen by the artists in this movement as being not
a picture but an event.

The Metamorphosis: " Woody" is a self taught
painter
an
urban visionary,
a concept developer and communicator of new ideals
who creates art because be believes that art
may in some way spot, and depict, an approaching worldview. "Art is life and life is
sacred" states Woody. As you explore his artwork and writings you
too may recognize how much his imagery reflects in pictorial forms some of the
dynamics of transpersonal ecstatic states. Many of Woody's paintings
have been depicted as a birth passage from the confines of habituated and entrained thought
patterns to a realm of numinous expansion. His paintings appear
to align with the
abundant, creative, exciting unfolding universe of experience and form.
He regenerates an ability to manifest and creates a portal for
spiritual representations to make their way into the sensory realm for
the eye of flesh to perceive and remember the visionary, the
transformative, the redeeming and mythical ; the "inner life".
Profile:
Although It
would be impossible to capitulate the life of this man in this short allocation
of time and space, the soon to be released tell all book will
certainly render his life story all that it really deserves, so let me share with
you one of his 'writings', trusting it most exemplifies his essence. "For we
live in the land of the living not on the streets of the forgotten, having done
so much in so little time and learned the world is so big, we learn to
treasure our inch of it". James Woody 1985.
Like many of the
nameless ones that proceeded him, he has lived life outside
the "box" and many of his contributions have remain mystic. Yet above
all
that
he may appear to
be, he is an
artist, a solution-oriented and
problem solving
professional;
a seeker of answers to the mystery of the
transformative process of growth and the metamorphosis of the world of
human experience, consciousness, and spirit. He is a humble man of considerable intellectual curiosity who ranges wide in his
reading and thinking, a thinker who plumbs a world of ideas found in
philosophy, psychology, anthropology, and ancient cultures, mythology,
and literature to find inspiration for his work. A seeker of
answers to the mystery of the transformative process of growth and
metamorphosis in the world of human experience, consciousness, and
spirit, seeking to give visual expression to these concepts,
he employs the sources
and principals of Transpersonal art therapy and design psychology
into the creation of his most unique paintings.
He is also a learner
of all things beautify and hopes and even expects that Transpersonal art will be the
cutting edge for changes in our culture, social and political
spheres. His motivations are that this "New Art" would spot, then
depict, new ways of seeing, new modes of being, new forms of cognition,
new heights or depths of feeling and in all cases, new modes of
perception.
He hopes his art work will allow him
to become a catalyst for helping others to discover their self empowered
inner wisdom—the single most powerful and lasting seed of change!
Woody's paintings are primarily collected by informed art enthusiast.
Although he has a passion for exhibits that are designed by global non-profit
art auctions organizations, he also continues to show in various corporate
and gallery settings.
Woody is on a mission to demystify the concept
of transpersonal experiences.
His work shows us that this journey called life,
is not always easy, but rather the fruits of suffering
and self-sacrifice,

there is a redemption made possible by a higher

Biography:
His prior professional experiences have included
senior strategist and management positions for start-up and
multi-national corporations, he is a leader, having made notable contributions to the publishing, finance and
technologies sectors. Woody , previously an international couture model
has worked with of the world's renowned fashion icons, he has
appeared in numerous international magazine editorials, and photographed
by many of the worlds most notable photographic icons. As one of the
first African-American models he had appeared 5 consecutive times in
Gentleman's Quarterly Magazine (G.Q) and became one of the first to have graced its cover.
His commercial credits include advertisements from many of the worlds
most recognized brands and television appearances in several daytime
dramas.
A
former Vice President of Marketing and co-founder of the
Virtual Lending Partners, Sr. Vice President of
Marketing for a wireless internet devise manufacturer and Internet
Service Provider, I-Titan Communications Network as well as the Director
of Marketing for ShowDigital, a company that
helped pioneer high-speed Internet service provisioning for major trade
shows and hotels in New York City. His
professional experiences have included creating integrated,
multi-discipline strategies, including: strategic planning, creative
concept development and print production and web development.
Mr. Woody also served on the board of directors
for the Synchronicity Group, Inc a private
investment firm that specializes in assisting American families that
have been turned down by "traditional" lenders and retains his position
as Managing Director of a New York based firm, Andice Capital, Inc., providers a full spectrum of business,
management, technology, and financial services to public and private
corporations, government agencies, high net worth individuals,
charitable foundations, institutions, and other organizations.
His unique
ability to fuse corporate communications skills and entrepreneurial
performance is a uniquely well-balanced set of strategic, tactical and
exceptional marketing and communications capabilities.
His entrepreneurial talents matured with the
formation of Barnes & Woody Publishing, Adam Reverse Water Systems and
others start-ups. His redefinitions of
"corporate art" in the mid-80's helped technology firms sensitive the
introductions of various technologies. A former member of the
Who's Who in information technology, resulting from his coauthored white paper
(1993) helped to introduce a definitive definition of the World
Wide Web,
as a media property and distribution mechanism (MPDM). As a former corporate affairs director of the New York Web he witness one of the

intervention. A former member of the "think tank" that helped introduce
